Board Description
The Simple IO Board is a standard-compliant, low-pin-count FMC (FPGA Mezzanine Card) designed for flexible I/O experimentation and educational use. This compact board routes 48 FMC signals to an MDR connector, offering a convenient interface for prototyping and testing. Each group of 8 bi-directional pins has a configurable direction, allowing for dynamic I/O control tailored to application needs. The board operates at 3.3V logic levels, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of systems. A freely I2C-programmable SI570 oscillator (10–280 MHz) is included to generate clock signals for MGT applications, offering broad frequency flexibility. Additionally, a dot matrix OLED display is integrated, ideal for real-time status display, educational purposes, and system demonstrations.
